climbing for the light, Mt. Diablo
climbing for the light is an ongoing photographic project centered on Mount Diablo, California. Using a medium-format Holga camera and in-camera double exposures, it treats landscape as an archive shaped by memory and ecological change. Through repeated return to the same site, the work reflects eco-grief and attachment, where place becomes both witness and record of transformation.
I am interested in how landscapes hold emotional residue over time, and how looking itself becomes a form of remembering.
