100 Paintings Project, 2021
This project began during the covid-19 lockdown to focus on my creative practice and utilize the small studio space in my Oakland apartment. I made 100+ paintings in 100+ days. This became like a diary, and each painting feels different from the last, which speaks to how we all would uniquely experience each day of our collective struggle. Time for me slowed down, each day felt the same and full of a dull uncertainty, but each new day also felt distinct from the day before and was full of moments of awe.
The journey has been chronicled on my Instagram account. For behind-the-scenes information and process videos, see @joytirade on IG.
This work is sold unframed each painting is an original watercolor on archival paper and sold for $100 but, by request, can be mounted to a cradled birch panel and finished with cold wax to seal the surface of the delicate watercolor image. 9x12 for $200 + 11x14 for $300.
