neu collective is an all-female, lens based, artist collective founded in 2019 in Durham, NC. Neu Collective grew out of conversations between Colleen Pesci and Joy Meyer while waiting tables at the local ramen shop.

neu collective is an artistic, curatorial, and research project which aims to create work collaboratively which interrogates the boundaries of lens based work.

Collaborations are being reconsidered as the members are now bi-coastal. New information to be updated by December 2020.

Members Bio

Colleen Pesci is a visual artist who works in diary and experimental documentary filmmaking. She focuses on voice and what happens when it is used. Pesci holds an MFA from Duke University in Filmmaking. Colleen also hosts a film series and curatorial project called The Casserole Series from an artist run project space in Durham, NC.

joy tirade is a visual artist who's practice operates at the nexus of painting, video, intermedia and light installation. In her work and research she creates connections between phenomenology, technology, and feminist theory to explore aspects and properties of human emotion such as love and longing. joy tirade holds an MFA in Visual Art from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. joy lives and works in Oakland, CA.
